Orange cake

Orange is the happiest colour - is it not? 
Orange heals like a bright sunny day!  My fruit bowl was glistening with oranges and was tempting me to bake an orange cake but my last experience with orange cake was quite a disaster! It came out bitter and I had been wondering why? 
Thanks to google god - the culprit must have been the orange zest that I had peeled, if you peel a lil pith with it or let the peel juice in the batter, it will get bitter!

So with my answers right there, I did all the right things today, peeled the zest carefully and rolled out a lovely orange cake...and an orange lamp!

Recipe below:

Ingredients:

1 egg
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup milk
Juice of 1 orange
1 tsp Grated orange zest
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
Vanila essence 

Method:

1. Beat an egg with sugar
2. Add oil, whisk well
3. Add orange juice and milk, zest, Vanila essence mix well 
4. Sieve flour, baking powder and Garam masala in the batter, fold well
5. Bake at 180 degrees for 25 min in a pre- heated oven!
